The hotel outside~ which is right across from the beach! It was a wonderful little hotel, very clean and SO providing! Free cookies 24 hours a day!


Overlooking the beach *_* There were cliffs over all the beach so you either had to walk about half a mile to get to flat ground or climb down the cliffside to get to the beach.

the ocean *_* i have never been to the oceanside before this so it was a wonderful treat. The ocean is GORGEOUS and this is the Pacific ocean of course which didn't smell bad at all though it tastes terrible.

Ok, so I was browsing the master forums, like Conceptart.org and Sijun, and looking at the speedpainting threads.. you know, the threads where someone's 30 minute painting wipes the floors with anything I spend 50+ hours one? Yeah. Those. Well I tried one for myself and of course it looks more like a random.. abstract.. thing... than what I intended, but eh. I haven't posted in awhile and I'm not up to scanning anything.

Anyway sorry I have not posted much lately, I have been working on a big ass CG and it's taking forever cos I suck at art and everything takes me too long to get it to look right T-T So tonight, on the eve of my departure to San Diego for a week I wanted to draw some CHUBBY REDHEAD LOVE so here's a doodle of Solais.



You know for a long time I didn't pay much attention to Solais, but it seems now she has really really come together in my head, like I know her character so much better and it makes me love her so much. I mean she is the main character of my fantasy story (tentatively called "Crystalline Dreams", though I am trying to figure something a bit more... mature notlikea14yearoldnamedit. :X) so it makes sense sI should have her down pat. She's very interesting to me now. And she seems to get more freckles every time I draw her. Rhys will have more freckles in the future too. cos i love them redheads. :C

Anyway I will be away for a week but with two several hour flights and such I should have some doodles to post here when I return :D OMG wish me luck! I might have a chance at.. wait.. must not speak of it!! :X

Neanddir is mine and the elf girl Ceinwen belong to Savannah, who is ~lullaby-child on DA who is massively adorable and sweet. Ceinwen is too n.n Neanddir kinda... keeps her and they develop a weird relationship, evolving from captor and victim to something vaguely like lovers. *hearty girly things*

So me and my buddy Nicolas Poussin were hanging out the other day and he said I should draw more satyrs because they are really interesting and damn I love drawing them for some reason OxO; I really like any kind of part animal people, though.


I know there seems to be no such thing as female satyrs but why would I care about that? I will happily rape mythology if I want. (this was actually an excuse to draw hairy girls, since I really want to but haven't the guts :x)


And of course more Neanddir for fun~! mmm hairyness!

Mr. Crankypants is back to post some more doodles that I owe this place. Ugh. I'm cranky because I realized while trying to figure out my portfolio thing that the vast majority of work I have done this year so far has been for others. Ok I like making things for people. BUT. I have NOTHING to show for myself, I have so little that I can put into a decent portfolio. I want to do selfish art, goddamnit. I want to make things that are for ME that are not sketches and doodles and quickly colored junk because I feel guilty I'm not working on crap for other people! I have nothing to show for all these months I've been free and now I have to go back to school in a month and I still have shit to do for people and I have absolutely nothing to show for myself =__= I have not been productive at all and I am so ashamed and angry.

So here the ideas for maybe doing:
-the viking warrior fox chick in a full pic - maybe in watercolors ala ~Perkan
-i need a good anal-retentive pic of Laudon or I will go nuts, because I'm always doodling him and I don't have anything quality finished of him
- picture of rhys and solais? i wish i could oil paint but no room + no ventilation :/
-something else I may be inspired to do?!
